What most people say is luck is really preparation meeting opportunity.
We have prepared ourselves in many different ways through out our lives.
Many times we took classes and read things and studies and worked - not for any immediate reason - but, because somehow we knew what we did then would be important later.
Lots of people, even those you cared about, laughed at you and made fun of you because you did what you thought was the right thin to do. They didn't get it then and still don't get it now. You don't even try to explain it to them; they still haven't unleashed their souls. Here are a few examples of preparations you have already made.
All of the decisions you have made up to this time.
All of the experiences you have had up to this time.
All of the friends you have made, up to this time.
All of the enemies you have made, up to this time.
All of the stupid things you have done, up to this time.
All of the smart things you have done, up to this time.
All of the shit that you have shoveled, up to this time.
All of your laughter, up to this time.
All of your tears, up to this time.
All of your vexes, up to this time.
All of the people who had loved you, up to this time.
All of the people you have loved, up to this time.
Working hard.
Going to school.
Meeting people.
Listening to people.
Doing what people told you to do.
Working hard.
Studying hard.
Reading.
Working hard.
Reading.
Paying attention to people you respected.
Taking each new opportunity for experience that came along.
Taking advantage of your strengths.
Recognizing your weaknesses.
Doing what you felt to be right.
Doing what you felt to be wrong.
This includes living right.
Be honest.
Don't hurt people purposely.
Don't take any crap that isn't necessary.
Don't do things just because someone else tells you too or because it is the easy way.
Do what you know to be right even if there is no perceivable "good reason". There is a good reason; it just hasn't presented itself yet.
If you would have had the faintest idea that the choices you made then would have lead you to the things you lived through later, you might just not have done them in the first place.
Looking back, your eyesight is dimmed and all you see are the good times.
The hard times fade away with time.
Looking forward scares the hell out of you because you just don't know if you will be ready.
Do what is sufficient for today and know that it will have an impact in the future.
Plant good seeds in fertile ground and you will have a bountiful harvest.
Sure, varmints and poachers will destroy some, maybe steal some of the crop, but in the end you will have what will be sufficient for that time.
This is Karma.
What goes around - comes around.
It is luck, fate - preparation meeting opportunity.
